I am a portrait and figurative artist living in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I am a self-taught painter intrigued by the old masters’ styles and processes, especially classical and traditional portraiture and the love of ancient, but with a modernist twist. My work has been included in multiple openings at Awaken Gallery, Mt. Holly, NC, numerous regional juried exhibits and competitions, an exhibition at the Gaston County Museum, and Charlotte’s 2023 Shout Luminous Lane experience. My subject matter usually centers on the timeless elegance of antiquity converging with the vibrancy of modernity.  My work is often described as seductive and moody and is my version of classical beauty filtered through a dreamlike vision. I seek to imagine my contemporary characters in a different time, ancient and nostalgic, but rarely in a contemporary setting.  

I was the typical creative kid growing up in a small South Carolina town with limited access to artistic resources. I always had a love for photography, drawing, and painting but never studied those seriously. Those artistic talents were considered ‘hobbies’, not career choices! I managed to find a creative niche and went on to be a media arts major at the University of South Carolina. But, I found myself with no single focus in school. After University, I pursued jobs that supported my artistic interests but were not specific to painting. Before I realized it, a summer job as a window dresser turned into a full-fledged career as a retail executive. In 2019, I left my previous career and focused on full-time painting and my creative passions.
